The S.C. Senate Banking and Insurance Committee is partnering with AARP-SC and South Carolina Appleseed Legal Justice Center to host a public hearing in Charleston on the current foreclosure crisis. If you or someone you know is facing losing their home through foreclosure, attend this event and share your story. Our elected officials need to hear from you to adopt the needed changes to our current laws in order to protect consumers and minimize the chances of people losing their homes.

Homeowners who have faced or are facing foreclosure due to financial hardship are invited to share pitfalls and solutions they have experienced with lenders and servicers while trying to save their homes. Also, individuals will be available to advise consumers on the best steps they can take to save their homes.

Public forums are also scheduled for Greenville and Columbia but our Charleston forum will be 5:30-7 p.m. Nov. 10 at the International Longshoreman’s Hall, 1142 Morrison Drive in Charleston.
