South Carolina Community Loan Fund (SCCLF) is pleased to announce its recent hire of Brendan Buttimer as a Community Development Loan Officer. Effective November 30, 2015, Brendan will join the team working from the organization’s new office in Spartanburg. Brendan will be responsible for the growth and management of SCCLF’s loan portfolio in Upstate SC as well as business development and program marketing.

Brendan comes to SCCLF with 10 years of management experience and an impressive record of growing partnerships and fostering relationships throughout South Carolina. Most recently, Brendan worked as Executive Director of Hub City Farmers’ Market, a successful and widely known nonprofit organization in Spartanburg focused on healthy eating and active living (HEAL) issues.

“I see this position as a natural extension of the work I’ve done over the last two and a half years at Hub City Famers Market,” Brendan comments. “I’ve seen the impact that SCCLF’s work has on South Carolina communities firsthand, and I am deeply honored by this opportunity to become a part of the team. I look forward to growing the relationships I have developed in the Upstate as I work to implement SCCLF’s mission and vision across the region.”

Michelle Mapp, Chief Executive Officer said “Brendan’s passion for building a healthy community at the grassroots level will make him an integral addition to the SCCLF team. We announced our transition to a statewide organization early last year and this is our first step to expanding our physical presence around the state. We believe growing our staff and opening an office in Spartanburg will allow us to better meet the needs of our Upstate partners and their communities. I am confident that Brendan will be a valuable asset to our organization and will play a key role in providing capital to the Upstate communities that are in need of the greatest investment.”
