Making a dream into a reality occurs with creativity, grit, and the community’s support for all small business owners. Lasenta Lewis-Ellis, president and CEO of LLE Construction Group, has experienced the ups and downs of pursuing one dream. This year marks the 12th year for the organization that focuses on creating, building, and maintaining spaces where South Carolinians learn, live, work, and play. A Woman and Minority-Owned Small Business General Contracting Firm, LLE Construction Group focuses on project, facilities, construction management, and community and commercial real estate development.
A Small Business Leader
A licensed General Contractor, Construction Manager, and Real Estate Sales Agent, Lewis-Ellis concentrates on Commercial Real Estate in the State of South Carolina and is a Quality Control Manager (CQM-C) from the U.S. Corp of Engineers.
"I always tell business owners that people need to know who you are and what your business is," said Lewis-Ellis. "Instead of always working the business, it is important to get out and share your services in the community."
While she is busy growing her LLE Construction Group, Lewis-Ellis continues to take time to network and volunteer in the Midlands community by serving on various boards.
South Carolina Community Loan Fund's Impact
LLE Construction Group's journey started by helping another small business and connecting with the SCCLF staff. Encouraged by SCCLF staff members to apply, LLE Construction submitted a loan request in 2022.
After working with the team, SCCLF approved LLE Construction Group's loan of over $350,000 in December 2022. "That in itself is a blessing," said Lewis-Ellis, "because now I can renovate the space and use it to support the community."
LLE Construction Group has several exciting projects in its future including renovations at Columbia’s Wonderful Beginnings Child Development Center to the new Starbucks located on the campus of the University of South Carolina. Lasenta Lewis-Ellis "walks the talk" regarding managing a successful small business.
"Partnering with LLE Construction Group furthers our mission of making meaningful change possible," said Nate Barber, South Carolina Community Loan Fund CEO. "We look forward to seeing more of her future success."
