Small Business

Since 1999, Perrin Woodworking has served the Lowcountry with quality custom cabinetry & furniture for residential and commercial properties. Their commercial portfolio includes custom cabinetry & furniture for some of the Charleston area’s most well-known restaurants. As their business grew, Perrin Woodworking owners Katy and Dan Perrin saw purchasing a building for their operation as the next phase of growth.

They first approached South Carolina Community Loan Fund for a loan in 2014 but were not able to find a building that suited their needs in the Charleston area. After deciding to expand their operations to Beaufort county, the Perrins again chose to partner with SCCLF to finance the purchase of a property in Port Royal, SC. “Not only does this loan provide a means of expansion for a respected South Carolina small business, it also shows that small business activity plays a critical role in rural community development,” said SCCLF Chief Lending Officer James Chatfield.

Perrin Woodworking’s expansion to Beaufort County will build the company’s assets and better meet their clients needs with studio, office, & gallery space, while expanding their capacity to allow for hosting workshops and community events in the evenings & weekends. The move will bring increased economic activity and eventually eight or more new jobs to a rural community.
