Kelsey Terry joined SCCLF as an intern in August of 2019. She was tasked with developing a program that would support and develop South Carolina’s minority-owned small businesses. For months, Kelsey worked with SCCLF’s lending team, conducted research, and built the framework for what would become SCCLF’s Local Entrepreneurship Acceleration Program (LEAP).
Last month, LEAP’s first Pitch Night took place in Orangeburg, SC and the inaugural LEAP class celebrated their graduation. This celebration would not have been possible without Kelsey. The SCCLF staff and board are grateful to Kelsey for her tireless efforts and enthusiasm for LEAP and its participants. “Kelsey’s work with the LEAP program made a meaningful impact on SCCLF and the entrepreneurs who participated in the program. Kelsey is passionate about social and economic justice, and I am proud of her achievements as a newly minted social worker. She will be an asset to the field, and I look forward to her many successes,” said SCCLF CEO Anna Lewin.
Kelsey recently graduated from University of South Carolina with a Master’s Degree in Social Work. Although Kelsey will be moving soon, her work on LEAP will have an impact on diverse small businesses across the state for years to come.
