Building Homes. Rebuilding Lives. Homes of Hope is Changing the Game in Affordable Housing.

What if one organization could tackle two of the most urgent challenges in our community at the same time? Homes of Hope does exactly that – and with the South Carolina Community Loan Fund standing behind them, they’re doing it with momentum that’s only growing.

Homes of Hope is on a mission to expand access to safe, affordable housing while simultaneously creating pathways to stability for men overcoming drug and alcohol addiction. Their dual-impact model is as powerful as it is practical: develop and build high-quality affordable homes and equip individuals with hands-on construction training, certifications, and job readiness skills through their Men’s Workforce Development Program.

The result? New homes for families. New careers for men in recovery. Stronger communities across the board.

A Development Making Waves

Homes of Hope’s newest project, Lakeview at Berea, features 22 for-sale affordable housing units – made possible in part through a direct investment from the South Carolina Community Loan Fund. SCCLF’s willingness to step in and fund this development is a perfect example of what mission-driven financing looks like in action. In a rapidly growing market where affordable homeownership is becoming harder to find, Lakeview at Berea is a beacon of what’s possible when the right partners come together.

Why the SCCLF Partnership Matters

For Homes of Hope, having SCCLF in their corner means having a partner that truly understands both the challenges and the critical importance of affordable housing work. It means being able to pursue projects that might not otherwise get off the ground. It means having an ally that doesn’t just write a check – but shares the same deep commitment to community transformation.

“Having a partner like South Carolina Community Loan Fund means having an organization that understands both the challenges and the importance of affordable housing. Their support reflects a shared commitment to strengthening communities and expanding opportunity.” – Homes of Hope

SCCLF’s investment in Homes of Hope is an investment in every family that moves into a Lakeview at Berea home, and every man who earns his construction certification through the workforce development program. That’s the power of financing rooted in mission.

Generational Change Starts Here

Homes of Hope isn’t just building houses. They’re building futures – for families who need a place to call home, and for men who are ready to rebuild their lives and contribute to the community that surrounds them. With SCCLF’s continued partnership, that future is being built one home, one life, and one community at a time.
