Rodrigo Vela Rivera, Interim Chief Financial Officer
Rodrigo Vela is serving as Interim Chief Financial Officer for South Carolina Community Loan Fund (SCCLF). He directs all financial operations to maximize community impact while maintaining strict fiscal sustainability. As CFO, he bridges the gap between traditional corporate finance and mission-driven community development.
Prior to joining SCCLF, Rodrigo served as CFO for two of the largest CDFI’s in the country. IFF, a regional CDFI based in Chicago, with over $1 billion in assets under management, and at the Raza Development Fund (RDF), where he joined in 2011. During his tenure at Raza, the fund obtained double-digit compounded annual growth for over a decade, reaching $500 million in assets under his management. Rodrigo has raised nearly $1 billion in enterprise debt from impact investors – capital that has been deployed in projects impacting low-income communities across the country.
He has MBA from UCLA Anderson School and completed executive training at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Rodrigo has been married to Diana for over 20 years and is father to 5 children. His involvement in community includes serving on the national board of directors of the Catholic Association of Latino Leaders, the board of En Familia Radio – a catholic Spanish radio network covering the state of Arizona, and is the former Treasurer for Catholic Education Arizona, a tax credit organization providing K-12 scholarships across Arizona.
